Chairman's Message & Some Pictures From Our Corporate Calendar
Anika
has been producing calendars to bring attention to the plight of
orphans in Malaysia for four years now. This pet project of our
Chairman, Bobby Wong, is in support of a cause that is close to
his heart and many of ours as well. The calendar was taken from
the paintings done by the orphans in 2005.
Here
is the message from the Chairman.
In conjunction
with Malaysia’s 50th Merdeka celebration and to promote the
importance of environmental protection, Anika is pleased to feature
artworks that illustrate these two themes on our 2008 calendars
in support of orphans in Malaysia.
These paintings
were done by the orphans themselves with visuals commemorating Malaysia’s
50th birthday featured for the first six months of the year while
the remaining half of the year showcases the children’s appreciation
of the environment.
We hope you
will enjoy the efforts put in by these amazing kids to show us the
great strides we have made as a nation, and to remind us of the
beauty of nature. We felt it was fitting to have the children reflect
on these themes as they have a stake in the country’s future
progress and the preservation of its natural resources.
The last time
we showcased the orphans’ artwork was in 2005 and the calendars
were a hit with our clients. Hopefully, many will find this year’s
calendar as meaningful and be moved by its message. We also hope
the paintings will remind you to spare a thought for these orphans
and find a way to contribute to them, through donation or the gift
of your time.
As always, I
would like to express my gratitude to the members of the committee
for their dedication and hard work on this project. I am grateful
also to my fellow Board of Directors for their continued support
of this significant endeavour. And of course, an enormous thank
you to all the exceptional children we’ve had the pleasure
of encountering. Thank you for the beautiful artwork, which hopefully
will give us all much food for thought.
